At ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ Christian School, the Parents in Partnership (PIP) programme is designed to foster a strong sense of community and enable active parental involvement in school life. This initiative not only supports the school's operations but also strengthens relationships among families and staff.
Here are specific examples of how the PIP programme achieves this:
• Hands-on Roles at School Events
Parents are encouraged to participate in various hands-on roles, directly contributing to the school's daily life and special occasions. This includes helping at sports carnivals and gala days, assisting with canteen and Cafe Covie shifts, and supporting academic and pastoral care by assisting in the Learning Hub and Junior Library, helping in the Sick Bay, and supervising exams.
• Support for Performances and Camps
Parents actively contribute to co-curricular activities by assisting with costume sewing and washing for performances and helping out at school camps and events.
• Community Working Bees
Events like the ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ Working Bee are highlighted as wonderful community gatherings where parents and volunteers come together for gardening, cleaning, and maintenance tasks. This provides opportunities for fellowship and shared purpose among parents and the school community.
• Weekly Prayer Groups
Parents are invited to join weekly Prayer Groups at Cafe Covie, creating a space for support and unity within the school community beyond just practical tasks.
• Contribution of Time
Parents are asked to contribute up to 24 hours per year of volunteer work at the school. This structured involvement aims to strengthen the community bond among families and staff.
• Financial Relief
To encourage participation, families receive a credit of $210 for every 6 hours of PIP completed, with a maximum annual credit of $840. This not only incentivises involvement but also helps to reduce school fees.
Through these diverse and hands-on activities, ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ actively partners with parents in their child's education, creating a vibrant Christian community and a culture of shared responsibility and care.
