At ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ Christian School, we view the role of parents in a child's education as a fundamental partnership. Our ultimate aim is to help parents nurture their children to know and love Jesus, equipping them to live for His glory.
Here's how we approach this partnership:
• Biblical Foundation:
We believe that God has appointed parents to be primarily responsible for the education of their children. This conviction guides our approach to schooling.
• Shared Responsibility:
At ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ, we see education as a shared responsibility between parents and educators. This partnership is crucial for maintaining high educational standards and ensuring that children receive support both at home and within the school environment.
• Active Participation and Community Building:
We actively encourage parents to be involved in the life of the school. This active participation helps to build a strong Christian community and fosters a culture of care and shared responsibility. Parents are invited to contribute up to 24 hours per year through our Parents in Partnership (PIP) program, which not only supports the school's operations but also strengthens relationships among families and staff.
â—¦ Examples of Parental Involvement:
Parents can get involved in various hands-on roles such as helping at sports carnivals and gala days, assisting with canteen and Cafe Covie shifts, participating in reading groups and exam supervision, assisting with costume sewing and washing for performances, and helping out at school camps and events.
Our Working Bees are also wonderful community events where parents and volunteers contribute to the school's gardening, cleaning, and maintenance, fostering fellowship and shared purpose. Parents are also invited to join weekly Prayer Groups at Cafe Covie, creating a space for support and unity.
â—¦ Financial Relief through PIP:
Families receive a credit of $210 for every 6 hours of PIP completed, up to $840 annually. This encourages participation and helps reduce school fees.
• Reinforcing Values at Home:
We teach the NSW curriculum from a Christian perspective, ensuring that biblical values are woven into every subject. This helps parents align discussions and activities at home with what children are learning at school, fostering a consistent worldview.
â—¦ Learning Support and Resources:
Our Learning Support team works closely with parents to tailor educational strategies for each child, providing regular communication, classroom adjustments, and one-on-one support. We also offer resources like our Cyber Safety Hub, a free tool designed to equip parents with information and tools to help their children stay safe online, further extending our partnership into the home environment.
• Continuous Support:
Our staff, all of whom are passionate Christians, understand each child deeply and are committed to embedding a biblical framework throughout the curriculum. They also serve as mentors, impacting children through daily life and offering spiritual guidance, support, and prayer. We aim to develop resilient, passionate, and faithful followers of Jesus.
